This security update resolves vulnerabilities in Microsoft Office that could allow remote code execution if a user opens a specially crafted Office file. Improved some translations for the Swedish and German versions of Excel 2016.
This security update contains fixes for the following nonsecurity issues:
- You experience occasional unexpected crashes in Excel 2016.
Assume that you apply formatting to a field cell, and the field doesn't have an entry for the right-most column on the rows axis. When you update the non-compact PivotTable, the formatting is lost.
After you refresh a pivot table that's based on a data model, the pivot table is not updated if measures are in different tables than the data that's being aggregated.
Excel may crash in the following scenarios:
When you do the Show Detail operation on a pivot table.
If recommended pivot tables in which data connection return no data.
You add a KPI to a pivot table.
You do the Redo operation of a pivot table refresh.
During the save after you undo or redo the setting default style.
You move a pivot table in which a data source is added to a data model to a new workbook.
You insert a native pivot table that shares an out-of-date pivot cache.
You search and then select Move PivotTable in the Tell me what you want to do list.
You create a set by using MDX for connections.
If the PowerPivot window is active after the workbook is hidden.
You dropdown the items in Pivot Table fields after hiding the current window.
You type values into a cell in the workbook.
During Single-Document Interface (SDI) window switch while Pivot Slicer is being changed.
