Skype for Business 2015 (Lync 2013) crashes shortly after you sign in if you're your own manager

Symptoms

Assume that you're your own manager in Microsoft Skype for Business 2015 (Lync 2013). When you sign in the client and it tries to automatically populate contacts, the client crashes after you stay signed in for a few moments.

Resolution

To fix this issue, install the December 6, 2016, update (KB3127976) for Skype for Business 2015 (Lync 2013).

Note Lync 2013 was upgraded to Skype for Business in April 2015.
