FIX: Microsoft Provider for DB2 fails with exception 0x80040E14 when you run a distributed transaction against a DB2 database

Applies to: Host Integration Server 2016

You run an application that uses the Microsoft Provider for DB2 to run a distributed transaction (DUW) against a DB2 database. To do this, you must interact with Microsoft Data Transaction Coordinator (MSDTC) to join a transaction.

In this situation, joining the transaction fails and generates a 0x80040E14 exception.

This problem is fixed in Cumulative Update 1 for Host Integration Server 2016.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
