Create a slide master in PowerPoint

PowerPoint 2013

A slide master is the top slide in a hierarchy of slides that stores information about the theme and slide layouts of a presentation, including the background, color, fonts, effects, placeholder sizes, and positioning. To create a master slide:

  • Click to select the master slide, then click Master Layout on the Slide Master tab.

  • Make the updates that you want.

  • To remove any built-in slide layouts that accompany the default slide master, in the slide thumbnail pane, right-click each slide layout that you want to delete, then click Delete Layout.

  • To set the page orientation for all of the slides in your presentation, on the Slide Master tab, click Slide Orientation, then click either Portrait or Landscape.

  • On the File tab, click Save As.

  • In the File name box, type a file name.

  • In the Save as type list, click PowerPoint Template, then click Save.
