When you upgrade to Windows 10 Version 1709, saved print settings may not be inherited correctly. This may cause unintended printing results.
In Windows 10 version 1709, the data structure that holds the print settings is changed and isn't compatibility with the data structure of the earlier version of Windows. The operating system can't correctly recognize print settings from earlier versions of Windows.
To work around this issue, change and save the print settings in Windows 10 version 1709 so that the print settings are updated to the new structure.
To resolve this issue, install the cumulative update for Windows 10 that releases on March 22, 2018—KB4089848 or later cumulative updates.
The setting value of Printing Defaults on the system is not fixed even after update KB4089848 is installed. This is By Design.
Microsoft has confirmed that this is an issue in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
