Known compatibility issues


The system partition is converted to a dynamic disk

An exception occurs in the Post-Deployment Configuration task in Windows Server 2016.

In the Windows Server 2016 Essentials, Standard, and Datacenter editions, the Post-Deployment Configuration task fails at 89 percent completion. Additionally, you receive the following error message:


You may see the following exception logged in C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows Server\Logs\Errors.log:


Additionally, you see the following exception logged in C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows Server\Logs\Storageservice.log:


The disk that hosts the server folders is converted to a dynamic disk

In the Windows Server 2016 Essentials, Standard, and Datacenter editions, the Essentials Dashboard may show the status of all the server folders as Unknown.

The C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows Server\Logs\Storageservice.log file shows the following exception entry:
