FIX: Access violation in cross data center failover if you use Always On Availability Groups in SQL Server

Symptoms


Assume that you use Always On Availability Groups in Microsoft SQL Server. When you do cross data center (cross-DC) failover, an access violation occurs. Additionally, you receive a "Non-yielding Scheduler" error message, and then SQL Server crashes.

Resolution


This problem is fixed in the following updates for SQL Server:

          Cumulative Update 13 for SQL Server 2017

Cumulative Update 3 for SQL Server 2016 Service Pack 2

Cumulative Update 10 for SQL Server 2016 Service Pack 1
