FIX: SQL Server service crashes when DBCC CHECKDB runs against a database that has a corrupted partition

Gilt für: SQL Server 2014 DeveloperSQL Server 2014 EnterpriseSQL Server 2014 Enterprise Core

Assume that you have a database in Microsoft SQL Server 2014, 2016 and 2017. If there's a corrupted partition in your database and you run the DBCC CHECKDB command, the SQL Server service crashes. Additionally, a SQL dump file is generated.

This fix for this issue is included in the following updates for SQL Server:

Cumulative Update 13 for SQL Server 2017

Cumulative Update 5 for SQL Server 2016 SP2

Cumulative Update 1 for SQL Server 2014 Service Pack 3

Note This fix raises an error to check the database and then lets the DBCC CHECKDB command end gracefully without crashing.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
