Kehtib: SQL Server 2017 DeveloperSQL Server 2017 EnterpriseSQL Server 2017 Enterprise Core

Summary

You have update KB 4089718 for Microsoft SQL Server installed to improve performance when you upgrade Master Data Services (MDS). That update added the PerformanceImprovementEnable switch (enabled by default) to improve performance. However, when you create or modify entities, attributes, users, or groups when page load permissions are used, performance is decreased.

This update lets you enable or disable the PerformanceImprovementEnable switch.

More information

This improvement is included in the following updates for SQL Server:

Cumulative Update 13 for SQL Server 2017

Cumulative Update 5 for SQL Server 2016 Service Pack 2

To improve performance when you create or modify entities, attributes, users, or groups when page load permissions are used, you must disable the PerformanceImprovementEnable switch.

To restore the performance improvement from update KB 4089718, you must re-enable the PerformanceImprovementEnable switch.

After you enable or disable the switch setting, you must run the following command to make sure that the view and data are correct:

exec [mdm].[udpPerformanceToggleSwitch]
