The following improvements are being made to enable the new Japanese era in Visio when it becomes available:

Visio applications will support the new Japanese era format dates.
The first year of each Japanese era will be written as Gannen.

This change adds support to the Gannen date format for the Visio Application Programming Interface (API). For more information, see Gannen or Ichinen.
