FIX: Unable to edit a Data-Driven subscription with date parameter in SSRS 2016

Applies to: SQL Server 2016 DeveloperSQL Server 2016 EnterpriseSQL Server 2016 Enterprise Core

Consider the following scenario:

  • You create a report with cascading parameters in Microsoft SQL Server 2016 Reporting Services (SSRS 2016).
  • You configure a data-driven subscription for the report.
  • You create a dataset that returns Date in report parameter.

When you try to edit the data-driven subscription after the report is saved, you will receive an error message that resembles the following:

OData exception occurred: System.FormatException: The string was not recognized as a valid DateTime. There is an unknown word starting at index 0.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
