Assume that you use Microsoft SQL Server 2014, 2016 or 2017. You notice that the supportfor the Geocentric Datum of Australia 2020 (GDA2020) is added to sys.spatial_reference_systems viewin the form of two new spatial reference ids (SRID values) that resemble the following:
SRID7843 geographic 3D
SRID7844 geographic 2D
The two new SRIDs can be used inspatial data and all spatial methods related to geography data type.
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
This issue is fixed in the following cumulative updates for SQL Server:
- Cumulative Update 16 for SQL Server 2017
- Cumulative Update 8 for SQL Server 2016 SP2
- Cumulative Update 4 for SQL Server 2014 SP3
- Cumulative Update 18 for SQL Server 2014 SP2
