Note On a Windows x64-based computer the Windows Explorer (shell, common dialog boxes, My Network Places, and so on) and other 64-bit applications cannot use the Microsoft Data Access Internet Publishing Provider. This is only available as a 32-bit application. 64-bit applications are limited to using Web Distributed Authoring and Versioning (WebDAV) via the native Web Client service redirector. There are currently no plans for porting this deprecated Windows component to future 64-bit versions of the operating system.
Important Do not install this Software Update for Web Folders on a Windows 7-based machine. The Update cannot be un-installed and can lead to an unsupported Windows 7 system.
