An HTTP success code is returned when an incoming HTTP message is suspended, and an HTTP 500 error code is returned when an incoming HTTP message is not suspended in BizTalk Server 2004

Symptoms

When you receive incoming HTTP messages in Microsoft BizTalk Server 2004, you may experience one or more of the following symptoms:
  • An incoming HTTP message is suspended when message processing in a pipeline fails. When this behavior occurs, an HTTP success code is returned to the client computer. This behavior occurs when the message size is 48 KB or smaller.
  • An incoming HTTP message is not suspended when the message size is larger than 48 KB. However, an HTTP 500 error code is returned to the client.

Cause

This problem occurs because of a code defect in BizTalk Server 2004.

Resolution

To resolve this problem, download and then install Microsoft BizTalk Server 2004 Service Pack 1 (SP1). After you install BizTalk Server 2004 SP1, failed HTTP messages will not be suspended, and an HTTP 500 error code will be returned.
