When you disable the just-in-time (JIT) debugging options in Microsoft Visual Studio .NET 2003, the JIT debugging options are also disabled in Microsoft Visual Studio 2005. Additionally, you may receive the following error message:
Another debugger has registered itself as the jit debugger. To repair, enable JIT or run repair.Note This issue occurs when you have both Visual Studio .NET 2003 and Visual Studio 2005 installed on the same computer.
This issue occurs because both Visual Studio .NET 2003 and Visual Studio 2005 use the same JIT debugging system.
To resolve this issue, enable the JIT debugging options in Visual Studio 2005. To do this, follow these steps:
- Start Visual Studio 2005.
- On the Tools menu, click
- In the Options dialog box, double-click
Debugging, and then click
- Make sure that the following options are enabled:
- Click OK to close the
Options dialog box.
This behavior is by design.
