You cannot print a range of pages from any e-mail message in Outlook 2007


You try to print a range of pages from an e-mail message in Microsoft Office Outlook 2007. However, there is no Page Range section in the Print dialog box. Therefore, you cannot print a range of pages. You can print only the whole message.

If you are unable to install 2007 Microsoft Office Suite Service Pack 2 at this time, use one of the following methods to work around this issue.

Method 1: Use Microsoft Office Word 2007

Copy the section of the e-mail that you want to print, paste this text into Word 2007, and then print the message.

Method 2: Use Internet Explorer to print HTML messages

If the e-mail message is in the HTML format, print the message in Internet Explorer. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Open the e-mail message.
  2. On the Ribbon, click Other Actions, and then click View in Browser.

    Note If the Microsoft Office Outlook dialog box appears, click Yes.

    The message is displayed in Internet Explorer.
  3. Select the text that you want to print.
  4. On the File menu, click Print.
  5. In the Print dialog box, click Selection in the Page Range section, and then click Print.

Method 3: Save the message as a PDF document or as an XPS document

Save the e-mail message as a Portable Document Format (PDF) document or as an XML Paper Specification (XPS) document, and then print the document from the appropriate program.

To save an e-mail message as a PDF or an XPS document, follow these steps:
  1. Copy the e-mail contents to Word 2007 or to Excel 2007.
  2. Click the Microsoft Office Button, point to Save As, and then click PDF or XPS.
  3. In the File Name list, type or select a name for the document or the workbook.
  4. In the Save as type list, click PDF or XPS document.
  5. If you want to open the file immediately after you save it, click to select the Open file after publishing check box. This check box is available only if you have a PDF reader or an XPS viewer installed on your computer.
  6. Next to Optimize for, click Standard (publishing online and printing).
  7. Click OK, and then click Publish.
To view a PDF file, you must have a PDF reader installed on your computer. One such reader is the Acrobat Reader. This reader is available from Adobe Systems. In Outlook 2007, the only change in printing behavior from earlier versions of Outlook is related to HTML messages. In earlier versions of Outlook, HTML messages are printed by using the printing engine from Internet Explorer.

However, for Plain Text and Rich Text Formatted (RTF) messages, Outlook 2003 uses its own printing engine. This is the same behavior as occurs in Outlook 2007.
