Hotfix informationTo resolve this problem, apply the following hotfix. Then, modify the registry to disable the Opportunistic Scanning feature. For information about how to do this, see the "Registry information" section.

Note If the EPG channel listings for the channels have already been lost, delete the channels, and then rescan the channels after you apply the hotfix.

Disable the Opportunistic Scanning feature
Fix it for meTo disable the Opportunistic Scanning feature automatically, click the Fix this problem link. Then, click Run in the File Download dialog box, and follow the steps in this wizard.
Note this wizard may be in English only; however, the automatic fix also works for other language versions of Windows.
Note If you are not on the computer that has the problem, you can save the automatic fix to a flash drive or to a CD, and then you can run it on the computer that has the problem.

- Click Start, type regedit in the Start Search box, and then press ENTER.
- Locate and then click the following registry subkey: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Media Center\Service\GLID
- On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click DWORD Value.
- Type DisableActualStreamOpportunisticScanning to name the new entry, and then press ENTER.
- Right-click DisableActualStreamOpportunisticScanning, and then click Modify.
- In the Value data box, type 1, and then click OK.
- Exit Registry Editor.

To restart the Media Center Receiver Service, follow these steps:
