Description of the Outlook 2007 hotfix package: June 20, 2008


This article describes the Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 issues that are fixed in the hotfix package that is dated June 20, 2008.

List of issues that are fixed

This hotfix fixes the following issues that are not previously documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article:
  • When you try to set an Out-of-Office (OOF) reply in Outlook 2007, you may receive the following error message:
    Your Out of Office settings cannot be displayed, because the server is currently unavailable. Try again later.
    This problem occurs when the user account that you use to log on to the computer differs from the user account that you use to log on to Outlook 2007.

  • In Outlook 2007, you receive an e-mail message that is sent from Outlook 2003. When you read the e-mail message, you cannot send a read receipt. This problem occurs when the following conditions are true:
    • The e-mail message is digitally signed.
    • The e-mail message is sent as a clear text signed message.
    • The e-mail message requests an S/MIME read receipt.
    Note This problem does not occur if the e-mail message is sent from Outlook 2007.

  • You start Outlook 2007 at a command prompt. To do this, you open a command prompt, you type a command that resembles the following command, and then you press ENTER:
    c:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE12\outlook.exe /recycle outlook:Calendar
    When you do this, you receive the following error message:
    The command line argument is not valid. Verify the switch you are using.

  • When you try to preview or print contacts, Outlook 2007 may crash. This problem occurs when the following conditions are true:
    • The contacts are in the business card view.
    • You select the Phone Directory Style as the print style.
