When you try to install or repair Microsoft SQL Server 2008 on a server where the Cluster service is installed, the installation or repair process may be blocked by a rule check. You may receive a message in the Detail.txt file that resembles the following:Additionally, you may see information that resembles the following in a table in the SystemConfigurationCheck_Report.htm file.
Note The SystemConfigurationCheck_Report.htm file is located in the \Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\100\Setup Bootstrap\Log\ date _ time folder.

This problem occurs if the Cluster service is not running.
To resolve this problem, verify that the Cluster service is running, and then run the rule check again.
This problem can occur when you install a stand-alone instance of SQL Server 2008 on a server where the Cluster service is installed.
