FIX: Warning message when a PPPoE service connection is successfully established and you do not perform any network actions for about 10 seconds: "No Carrier detected. Verify connection settings and check for possible cable problems"

Consider the following scenario:
  • You have a Windows Embedded CE 6.0-based device that is running an image that includes the SYSGEN_PPPOE component.
  • You successfully establish a connection to a PPP over Ethernet (PPPoE) service by using this device.
  • However, you do not perform any network actions, such as opening a Web page, for about 10 seconds.
In this scenario, the PPPoE service disconnects automatically, and you receive the following warning message:
No Carrier detected. Verify connection settings and check for possible cable problems.

This problem occurs because the device sends out an echo request with a magic number that differs from the one that the Link Control Protocol (LCP) configures for the PPPoE connection.
