FIX: Only the first command in a transaction is replicated to the subscriber when you set the MaxCmdsInTran parameter of Log Reader Agent to 1 in SQL Server 2005

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario. In Microsoft SQL Server 2005, you configure transactional replication. You set the MaxCmdsInTran parameter of Log Reader Agent to 1. A transaction contains multiple commands that update an article. In this scenario, only the first command in the transaction is replicated to the subscriber when you synchronize the transaction. The rest of the commands in the transaction are skipped.

Resolution

Workaround

To work around this problem, set the MaxCmdsInTran parameter of Log Reader Agent to a value that is greater than 1.

Status

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section. This problem was first corrected in SQL Server 2005 Service Pack 3.
