Error 42000 Unable to Connect to Database.

Symptoms

"Error 42000 Unable to connect to database. Verify if the database settings are correct"

This error occurs when setting the company as default and using Epicor 3rd Party Security.

Cause

The error occurs because the psql3sec.dll is missing, not registered or not located in the correct directory on the client workstation.

Resolution

  1. Locate the file, psql3sec.dll, within the eBackOffice main directory. Use the Copy and Paste comands to place it into the C:\Windows\System32 directory.
  2. Register the psql3sec.dll. For additional information on how to register DLL's refer to Registering DLL Files.
  3. Reboot this workstation.
