Symptoms

Users trying to repair their Window XP using an OEM-Provided Recovery Media will find that the option to repair is not available.

Cause

This problem occurs if the "Recover or Restore" CD uses a Winnt.sit answer file for unattended mode installation of Windows XP

Resolution

There is no resolution. Microsoft is aware of this issue.
