INTRODUCTION

This article describes how to suppress or display a warning message when users try to save a file in OpenDocument Format (ODF). Support for ODF is provided in theMicrosoft Office 2010 suites and 2007 Microsoft Office suite Service Pack 2 (SP2).

Users of these Office programs can open, edit, and save the files in the OpenDocument Text (.odt) format, in the OpenDocument Spreadsheet (.ods) format, and in the OpenDocument Presentations (.odp) format.


A warning message is displayed when users try to save a file in ODF in Word 2007, in Excel 2007, in PowerPoint 2007, in Word 2010, in Excel 2010, or in PowerPoint 2010. This warning message contains information that resembles the following:

For more information on incompatible features and on changing your default file format, click Help.

Don't show this message again.

Yes No HelpIn Word 2007, in PowerPoint 2007, in Word 2010, or in PowerPoint 2010, this warning message contains the Don't show this message again check box. To suppress this warning message, click to select the Don't show this message again check box, and then click Yes or No in the warning message. After you do this, if you want to display this warning message again, you have to change the registry as follows.
