Description of the 2007 Office system hotfix package (Mso.msp): June 30, 2009

This article describes the 2007 Microsoft Office system issues that are fixed in the hotfix package that is dated June 30, 2009.

Issues that this hotfix package fixes

  • You do not have delete permission on a Word 2007 document. When you try to save the document, you receive the following error message:

Word cannot complete the save due to a file permission error.
Note This problem does not occur in Word 2003.

You may also encounter the same issue in Excel 2007. In Excel 2007, when you try to save the Excel file, you receive the following error message:
Your changes could not be saved to 'filename.xlsx' because of a sharing violation. Try saving to a different file.
  • When you call the Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) CanvasItems.AddPicture method to add a picture which is hosted on an HTTP server to a canvas in Word 2007, two HTTP GET requests are sent instead of one.

  • On a Windows Vista-based computer that was updated with the hotfix described in KB 954037, you cannot see Distributed File System (DFS) folders in the folder view of the Insert Hyperlink dialog for an Office client application.

  • You have an add-in that uses a custom gallery in the Ribbon. If the gallery is empty, you cannot re-enable any buttons in the gallery dynamically, because the GetEnabled callback function is never called.

Note If there is at least one item in the gallery, the callback function is called as expected.

  • You cannot digitally sign Word 2003, Excel 2003, or PowerPoint 2003 files by using a OneBadge digital signature certificate. The signing tries do not generate any errors or prompts. However, the digital signature certificate cannot be added to the file. This issue occurs on multiple users' clients and within instances of VMware.

The OneBadge digital signature certificate is successfully added within Outlook 2003 and Adobe Reader .pdf files.

The OneBadge PIV Authentication Certificate is successfully added within the same applications.

  • When you view folders that are listed under My SharePoint Sites in the Open dialog box or the Save As dialog box in a 2007 Office application, you are prompted for authentication. This problem occurs when an expired site is removed from the list and you no longer have access to the site.

  • When you try to set a filer on a data field in a mail merge document that uses a SQL Server database as the data source, you receive the following error message:

An operation cannot be completed because of database engine errors.
Note This problem does not occur when a Jet database is used as the data source.

  • For users of the Korean language Input Method Editor (IME) the Correct keyboard setting option was removed from the AutoCorrect options dialog box in Excel 2007 and in PowerPoint 2007.
