In a Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 environment, you try to move messages from one mailbox folder to another mailbox folder. However, the messages disappear if you move the messages by using Microsoft Office Outlook in cached mode. If you move the messages by using Outlook in online mode or by using Outlook Web Access (OWA), the move operation does not finish. Additionally, you receive one of the following error messages:
- In Outlook in online mode:Cannot move the items. The item cannot be moved. It was either already moved or deleted, or access was denied.
- In OWA:Some items could not be moved. This may be because the folder has reached its size limit.
This issue occurs when the mailbox folder which you try to move the messages to was configured as a managed folder in Exchange Server 2007. However, the mailbox folder was changed to an un-managed folder afterwards. This change does not set the ptagProvisionedFid property of the folder correctly. Therefore, prevents you to move the messages to the un-managed folder.
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
