A memory leak occurs if the content in a frame on a webpage is reloaded repeatedly in Internet Explorer 8

Applies to: Internet Explorer 8

Symptoms

You use Windows Internet Explorer 8 to visit a webpage that contains frames in a frameset. If the content in a frame is reloaded repeatedly, a memory leak occurs.

To monitor memory performance, use Performance Monitor (Perfmon.exe). In Performance Monitor, check the Private Bytes and Working Set counters for the affected Internet Explorer process. When you experience this issue, you notice that the values of these two counters keep increasing.
