Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:

  • You run the Korean version of Microsoft PowerPoint on a computer that is running a non-English version of Windows.

  • You enable the Allow Korean text to wrap in the middle of a word option in the Korean version of PowerPoint.

  • In the Korean version of PowerPoint, you open a PowerPoint presentation that was created in an English version of PowerPoint.

In this scenario, English text may wrap unexpectedly in the middle of a word.

Workaround

To work around this problem, set the proofing language of the English text to Korean. To do this, follow these steps:

  1. Select the English text.

  2. Click the Review tab.

  3. In the Language group, click Language, and then click Set Proofing Language.

  4. In the Language dialog box, click Korean in the Mark selected text as box.

  5. Click OK.
