The Windows Hardware Compatibility List (HCL) is a compilation ofcomputers and computer hardware that have been extensively tested withWindows for stability and compatibility. Microsoft Product SupportServices uses the HCL to determine whether or not a computer is supportedfor use with the Windows operating system.
Before you install Windows on a computer, check the HCL to determine whether the computer is certified by Microsoft as Windows-compliant.
