When you open a folder in Microsoft Explorer on a drive using the FAT32file system, one or both of the following symptoms may occur:
- It may seem to take an unusually long time before the window is accessible.
- The Working in Background pointer may appear for a long time.
The total space used by all directory entries in the folder exceeds 32K.
To resolve this issue, move some files to a different folder.
Microsoft is researching this problem and will post new information herein the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
Microsoft Explorer parses the directory entries in the FAT completelybefore displaying the files.
