When you view a document in Online Layout View, some paragraph borderstyles do not appear to be transparent.
This problem may occur when you apply a background color to a document thatcontains one of the following paragraph border styles:
Dotted line (third style)
Dashed line (fourth style)
Dot-dash line (fifth style)
Dot-dot-dash line (sixth style)
Zig-zag line (eighteenth style)
Zig-zag line (nineteenth style)
Striped line (twentieth style)
To work around this problem, use a different border style to border thetext. Do not use one of the styles listed in this article.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft Word 97 forWindows.
