Sheet Protection Does Not Disable Options Settings

When you protect a worksheet, Microsoft Excel continues to allow you toselect calculation options that affect formulas in the worksheet, such as"Precision as displayed," "Accept labels in formulas" (in Microsoft Excel97), and "1904 date system." When you change these options, MicrosoftExcel updates the formulas even though the worksheet is protected.
This behavior is by design in the products listed at the beginning of thisarticle.
