When you press the eject button on your CD-ROM drive, Microsoft Excel 97may close unexpectedly.
NOTE: This behavior occurs regardless of whether there is a compact disc inthe CD-ROM drive.
To work around this problem, eject the contents of the CD-ROM drive byusing Microsoft CD Player. To do this, do the following:
On the Start Menu, point to Programs. Point to Accessories, point to Multimedia, and then click CD Player.
Click the eject button in Microsoft CD Player.
NOTE: This procedure works only if a compact disc is in the CD-ROM drive.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Excel 97 forWindows. This problem was corrected in Microsoft Excel 97 for Windows,Service Release 1 (SR-1).

Microsoft CD Player is an accessory component of Microsoft Windows 95. Ifyou are unable to find this component, it may not be installed on yourcomputer. To install Microsoft CD Player, do the following:
On the Start menu, point to Settings, and then Click Control Panel.
Double-click Add/Remove Programs.
Click the Windows Setup tab.
Click Multimedia in the Components list and click Details.
Click CD Player and click OK.
Note that you are prompted for the media from which you installed Microsoft Windows 95.
