FIX: IOS Failed to Initialize Error During Installation

Installing Visual Basic version 5.0 on a system running Windows 95 with theOEM Service Release listed above may cause the following error message tobe displayed during the system restart:
"Windows initializing device IOS: Windows protection error IOS failed to Initialize, Please restart"
In many cases this error has been caused by driver problems. You shouldcontact your vendor to see if an updated driver is available to fix theproblem.
It is also possible that the error is caused by the problem described inthe following article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
Error Message "IOS Failed to Initialize" on Boot
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a bug in the Microsoft products listedat the beginning of this article. This problem has been fixed in MicrosoftWindows 98.
