In Microsoft Project, when you edit Actual Work or % Work Complete on aSummary task, Work and Actual Work will be distributed not only to all theSubtasks that have resources assigned, but also to the Subtasks that do nothave resources assigned.
Actual Work and % Work Complete edits on a Summary task are distributed toall tasks indented under it, not just to the tasks with resources assigned.
Track Actual Work individually on Subtasks rather than tracking Actual Work on Summary tasks. You can do this by entering Actual Work or % Work Complete to each of the tasks indented under the Summary Task and not to the Summary Task itself.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the versions of MicrosoftProject listed above.
