When you start your computer to a command prompt and then try to create anew folder that contains more than 67 characters, you may receive thefollowing error message:

Invalid directory
Cause
This behavior occurs because Windows 95 and Windows 98 adheres to the MS-DOS path limit of 67 characters when you start your computer to a commandprompt.
Resolution
To work around this issue, start your computer normally, and then createor view folders.
