OL98: How to Install Visual Basic Help

The process for adding the Visual Basic help file for Microsoft Outlook 98differs from the process used in Outlook `97. In Outlook 98, the VisualBasic help files can be installed by using Add/Remove Programs to add theDevelopment Tools component. This installs the help file, along with theVisual Basic Script Debugger.

To Add the Visual Basic Help File

  1. Click the Start button, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
  2. Double-click the Add/Remove Programs icon.
  3. On the Install/Uninstall tab, click to select Microsoft Outlook 98, and click Add/Remove.
  4. In the Outlook 98 Active Setup dialog box, click Add New Components.
  5. Depending on the source of your initial installation, click Install From Web or Install From CD.
  6. Click Yes to allow Active Setup to determine the Outlook components installed on your computer.
  7. Click to select the Development Tools check box and click Next.
  8. Click to select a Download Site, and click Install Now.
  9. When the download is complete, quit all programs and restart your computer.
A new help topic entitled "Microsoft Outlook Visual Basic Reference" willbe added to the existing help topics.
