In Microsoft Word 98, when you type a fraction, the fraction will not bereplaced with the fraction character. This behavior is different fromMicrosoft Word 97 for Windows.
If you are used to using Word for Windows, you may also notice that thefollowing option is not on the AutoFormat As You Type tab of theAutoCorrect dialog box (on the Insert menu, point to AutoText, and clickAutoText):
Fractions (1/2) with fraction character (1/2)
Fraction characters do not exist in the character set of the Macintoshfonts; therefore, fractions are not replaced automatically in Word 98Macintosh Edition.
