BUG #: 17942 (SQLBUG_65)
Changes made to the Set Security Options and Change Network Support optionsof SQL Server Setup are not recognized by SQL Server when SQL Server is setup as a Symmetric Virtual Server (SVS). Additionally, changes made tosecurity with SQL Enterprise Manager also fail to work in this scenario.
To work around this problem, do the following:
  1. Remove the SVS configuration.
  2. Use SQL Server Setup to change your security options or network support as desired.
  3. Set up SVS again.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in SQL Server, EnterpriseEdition, version 6.5.
