Symptoms
You may receive the following STOP error message in Netbt.sys when acomputer tries to connect to a multihomed host and the connectionterminates prematurely:

STOP 0x0000001E (0xC0000005, 0xFD7A4A44, 0x00000000, 0x42000878)

The second value may vary depending on where Netbt.sys was loaded. Theforth value may also vary.
Cause
There was a race condition in Netbt.sys where a thread is preempted andmemory that it was accessing is released before the thread resumesexecution. This causes the thread to access the memory that was released.
Resolution
To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Windows NT 4.0 or Windows NT Server 4.0, Terminal Server Edition. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in theMicrosoft Knowledge Base:

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Windows NT 4.0 and Windows NT Server 4.0, Terminal Server Edition. This problem was first corrected in Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 4.0 and Windows NT Server 4.0, Terminal Server Edition Service Pack 4.
