After you change the default value of the "Cancel the call if notconnected within <XX> secs" check box on the Connection tab in the Modemtool in Control Panel, the Modemlog.txt file still shows the modem's S7register set to 55 seconds. Regardless of the value you enter, the valueis still set to 55 seconds.
To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Windows NT 4.0 or Windows NT Server 4.0, Terminal Server Edition. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in theMicrosoft Knowledge Base:

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Windows NT 4.0 and Windows NT Server 4.0, Terminal Server Edition. This problem was first corrected in Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 4.0 and Windows NT Server 4.0, Terminal Server Edition Service Pack 4.
The minimum value for this field is 55 seconds. Any number less than thatresults in the modem's S7 register being set to 55 seconds. To set theregister to a value greater than 55 seconds, apply Windows NT 4.0 ServicePack 4 to the computer before changing the default value.
