When you list Webs on an Internet Information Server (IIS) computer withFrontPage Server Extensions installed, you receive the following errormessage:
Unknown Server Type MSIIS
The Event Viewer reports the following error:
Error #50007 Message: Server error: Unknown HTTP server type "msiis".
The Web server continues to serve pages and the extensions seem to beworking.
The FrontPageRoot parameter in the [FrontPage 3.0] section of theFrontpg.ini file points to an old or incorrect location.
To resolve this problem, correct the location of the FrontPageRootparameter. It should look similar to the following:
   [FrontPage 3.0] FrontPageRoot=C:\Program Files\Microsoft FrontPage
NOTE: C:\Program Files\Microsoft FrontPage is the default location inwhich the FrontPage Root is installed.
The FrontPageRoot parameter in the FrontPg.ini file gives the FrontPageServer Extensions the location in which FrontPage (or the Extensions) wasinstalled, which, in turn, tells FrontPage where to install the ServerExtensions. If this information is incorrect, then the Server Extensionsdo not recognize the Web server and the Server Extensions installationfails.

By correcting the location to the FrontPageRoot, the Server Extensionswill completely install to the correct Web server.
