When installing IIS on a Windows 2000 print server to enable Internetprinting, a necessary virtual directory in IIS may not be createdimmediately. A restart of the SPOOLER service does not force the creationto take place. This may cause the computer to report an error when arequest is made to http://%servername%/printers for a period of time until the SPOOLER service forces the update and creates the virtual directory in IIS.
This problem is because of new performance-related behavior in SPOOLER forWindows 2000.
The update may be forced to take place immediately by performing a SPOOLERrelated event such as printing, managing printer documents, or managingprinter permissions either remotely or from the console.
