running MS-DOS and MS Windows applications.
This error occurs when a .pif file is used to establish EMS memory and acustom Config.nt and Autoexec.nt are specified in the PIF file. Either theapplication will use the default configuration files in the%SystemRoot%\System32 folder, if they exist, or it will generate theerror message listed above. Settings in the custom configuration files in afolder other than %SystemRoot%\System32 will not be used if EMS isspecified in the .pif settings.
The location of the custom configuration files is lost when EMS memory isestablished. The default configuration file location is used.
