When you insert a Microsoft Project object into another program (such asMicrosoft Excel or Microsoft Word), outline symbols may not be displayednext to tasks in the Microsoft Project object. In addition, a portion ofthe timescale may not be displayed.
This behavior may occur when you insert a Microsoft Project object inanother program and the Microsoft Project object is not active. Thisbehavior is by design.
NOTE: In Project 2007 and earlier versions, outline symbols are displayed when you activate the project only if the Show Outline Symbol option is selected in Microsoft Project. To find this option, click Options on the Tools menu, and then click the View tab. It is located under Outline Options.
When you insert a Microsoft Project object into another program, theprogram treats the inactive object similar to how Microsoft Project printsa project. Microsoft Project does not display outline symbols when printinga project. Similarly, other applications do not display outline symbolswhen an object is inactive. Also, the end of the timescale is adjusted sothat the end of the object matches a separator from the timescale.
