ILM Management Agents and Windows 2008 Active Directory

This article has been archived. It is offered "as is" and will no longer be updated.

With Identity Lifecycle Manager (ILM), including Feature Pack 1 (FP1), you can create a Management Agent for Active Directory when the AD Domain Controller is installed on Windows 2008 R2.
However, this will not be supported if you are using the Recycle Bin feature of AD that was introduced in Windows 2008 R2. ILM 2007 supports the AD features that were available at the time of its release, and this predates the Recycle Bin feature.

Operations such as moving an object to the Recycle Bin and then back to its original location can cause unexpected behaviors in ILM import operations.
