Keyboard shortcuts for Excel FR not working

Support for Office 2003 has ended

Microsoft ended support for Office 2003 on April 8, 2014. This change has affected your software updates and security options. Learn what this means for you and how to stay protected.

You are using an Office installation with a French interface.

When you try to use the keyboard shortcuts that are listed in the online help, you may notice they have no effect or have a different effect than indicated in the online help for Excel 2007.

For example, if you select a column and press Ctrl+0 to hide it, the selected column is not hidden. Instead, all the cells of that column get an outer border.

The English online help:

Excel shortcut and function keys - Excel - Microsoft Office Online

as well as its French equivalent:

Touches de fonction et de raccourci d'Excel

mention that Ctrl+0 hides the selected column(s).

This is a limitation of the product. The shortcut keys listed in the online help only work in the English interface.

In order to work around this problem, use the ribbon commands or the contextual menu commands.

For example, in order to hide a selected column, right-click the selected column and choose Masquer (Hide) from the contextual menu.
