If you are using Microsoft Windows NT and attempt to change Outlook from the Corporate or Workgroup setup option to the Internet Only option, you may receive the following warning message:
The add-in "dlgsetup.dll" could not be installed or loaded. This problem may be resolved by using Detect and Repair on the Help menu. Unable to load "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office." You may be out of memory, out of system resources, or missing a .dll file.
When you click OK you are allowed to continue to configure Outlook as Internet Only with a POP3 and SMTP e-mail account. After Outlook restarts and notifies you that it is rebuilding the Outlook Bar, you may receive the following error message:
The dynamic link library MAPI32.dll could not be found in the specified path C:\ORIGRA~1\MICROS~1\Office;.;C:\winnt\System32;C:\winnt\system;C:\winnt;C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\;C:\winnt\system32;C:\winnt.
When you click OK you may receive the following warning message:
Microsoft Outlook cannot start the Import/Export engine. An error occurred and this feature is no longer functioning properly. Would you like to repair this feature now?
Clicking Yes repairs the damaged files and Outlook opens.
The above error messages, while not consistent, may occur when you have a missing or damaged Mapi32.dll file and have attempted to switch Outlook from Corporate or Workgroup to Internet Only.
On the Help menu, click Detect and Repair. This will repair any damaged files. Then proceed with switching from Corporate or Workgroup to Internet Only.
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
