This article describes how to change the location of client-side cache in Windows 2000.
You can use Windows 2000 to make mapped drives available offline by caching local copies of the files in these drives. By default, the cached copies of these files are stored on the system drive in the %systemroot%\csc hidden folder.
It may be useful to change the drive or partition where files in the client-side cache are stored. To do this, you can use the Cachemov.exe tool that is part of the Windows 2000 Resource Kit.
When an administrator runs Cachemov.exe, the administrator has the option to select any other local drive to move the cache to. Cachemov.exe will create a new hidden folder called CSC in the root of the drive you selected , and then move the existing client-side cached files into this folder.Additional information about Cachemov.exe is available in the Windows 2000 Resource Kit in the Tools help file.
