When you save a Web page by clicking Save As on the File menu and then clicking "Text File (*.txt)" in the Save As Type box, frames, tables, and other formatting is not saved. None of the information in frames or tables appears in the text file that is generated.
Saving a Web page as text saves only the text of the Web page. The source HTML code for the page is not saved.
To save the HTML source code in a file:
On the View menu, click Source.
In the Notepad window that opens, click Save on the File menu.
To save the complete Web page:
On the File menu, click Save As.
In the Save As Type box, click Web page, complete (*.htm,*.html).
